Design Process
-
Research
Every design decision I make begins with research. This step of the process is ongoing, and even when I feel I have gathered enough research and data to make informed design decisions, I am continuously seeking new insights and constantly challenging my decisions to drive my work forward. I am always taking note of good and bad UI patterns.
-
Define
Deliverables are tailored to fit each individual project. My primary tools I use to define a product include personas, information architecture, task flows, user flows and wireframes. I believe there is always room for improvement, even for great design work. This requires me to remain agile throughout the entirety of my design process.
-
Design
Once a solid foundation is in place, I begin my design process. My strength is in visual design with my background in Fine Art. I pull from art concepts in addition to UX/UI principles to create products that are user friendly and visually balanced. I build off of the low fidelity wireframes to develop and deliver high fidelity prototypes.
-
Test
User testing helps a product continue to evolve and can affirm design decisions or shine a light on areas needing iterations. I use the prototyping tool in Figma, ideally observing potential users go through multiple flows and determining success rates. Uncovering opportunities for improvement is vital to the future success of a product.
